i rly like chinese plus sized fashion bc they use models who aren’t just hourglass/pear shaped, a lot of them have wide waists and larger arms and its so nice to see that like too much in american plus size they try to only show models who have the coke bottle figure in some way and its like cute but thats not gonna help me when i buy the garment and it looks totally different on me.

like u almost NEVER see models wit these proportions for western plus sized clothes but like how cute is this???

It’s not so much about the Oscars; that’s aiming small. The biggest issue, the biggest obstacle in diversity in Hollywood are the movies that are being made and greenlit. It doesn’t matter if you have 3.000 Academy members who are people of color if there are no movies out there with people of color to vote on.
I’ve been out there for 30 years. I’ve gotten two Tony Awards. I’ve done Broadway, Off-Broadway. I’ve come out of Julliard. I’ve done television, film, all of it. But there is not the same opportunity for me. Even though I would say that, if given the chance, I could show people that I could do just as well as any one of my Caucasian counterparts. But there’s a glass ceiling for me. And so now I’m at the top of the food chain for an actress of color. I’m not at the top of the food chain for an actress. - Viola Davis

Art has got to reflect life, or else it’s not art.

The reason it reminds you of a Renaissance paintings is because of how the people’s gestures and gazes direct your eye between each other and ultimately toward the central motif of the Beib getting choked.

It’s also the colour scheme and the lighting. The deep red and the pale greens, the lighting so dark that some figures are obscured but the others stand out with brighter lighting. Even the circular pattern in the back references halos or other decorative features meant to draw attention. 10/10 good Renaissance art.

And I enjoy the subject matter too.

Exquisite Vertical Gardens Cascade Over the Concrete Jungle by Patrick Blanc

Installation artist Patrick Blanc is immensely familiar with the realm of plants and their magical beauty. Blanc installs stunning carpet like greenery on unconventional and contemporary spaces all over the world, including, Paris, Bangkok, New York, Singapore and other locations. Blanc beautifully introduces a living symbol into an artificial manmade structure. The cityscape is immediately changed by the biodiversity which is taking refuse in concrete walls.

You can follow his impressive trajectory and work in his book The Vertical Garden: From Nature to the City, which chronicles his amazingly beautiful work.
